A Lovely Night For a Lake Michigan Cruise

Was a little disappointed getting on a $work cruise on the Spirit of Chicago last night – as our departure time approached, it was beginning to look like it would just get drearier and drizzlier as the night wore on (“… a threeee ow-er tooooour…“).

Who wants to stay inside and drink on a night cruise that normally offers such great views of the skyline?

But then the show got started. And it was worth getting a little wet for.

Music on the Riverwalk

I encountered Zack back in July, entertaining the Naperville Riverwalk. Zack is a Wheaton-based attorney, and has played Spanish guitar (Flamenco and otherwise) since childhood.

Summer Storms Make for Great Clouds

The last couple of days, the sky’s been doing some really freaky things – sometimes right before it storms, sometimes right after, and sometimes when it looks like it’s just thinking about it.

Lots of grey in the sky, but some light peeking through here and there. And as I walk to work, in some places, it’s pretty striking how little color there is in the buildings, too. All said, a great time to work on seeing and processing in black and white.
